Old Vine Shiraz
In 1920 Ronald Angas planted Shiraz vines on sandy loam soil on the eastern slopes of Mount Edelstone high in the Barossa Ranges near Keyneton. This vineyard came to be known as Mount Edelstone, meaning gemstone. The 70 year old ungrafted dry grown vines from this historic vineyard are low yeilding producing intensity of colour, depth of fruit flavours, complexity and palate length. The Shiraz was hand picked in mid April and matured in new and seasoned American and French oak hogsheds for eighteen months.
