The wine is very moreish and finishes fresh and clean. Everything is balanced and in its place. The extended time in barrel (20 months) has done its work. This wine is to be enjoyed young or cellared for the medium term.
Colour The colour is bright medium garnet.
Nose There are aromas of ripe strawberry, cherry and red plum, together with moss and fern from the forest floor, apricot kernels and sage.
Taste Intense red fruits burst and linger long in the palate. Soft tannins, a little earth and brown spice add dimension and complexity. Lovely oak is nicely evident, but not overdone. The wine has good body, but this is a precise and elegant rather than a full style. The structure and composition are excellent and supported by ripe acidity racing from front to back.
