This release marks the 75th birthday of the founder Wolf Blass AM
Wolf Blass Platinum Label Shiraz is the ultimate expression of their winemakers masterful skills and showcases the finest individual parcels of fruit from selected vineyards. Warm conditions and minimal rainfall provide ideal vintage conditions for producing optiumum fruit ripeness, flavour, structure and depth. Fruit was sourced from selected Barossa vineyards across the warmer valley floor and the higher altitude, cooler climate foothills. The fruit was harvested, crushed and fermented in small open fermenters for up to fourteen days to concentrate the middle palate and contribute length. After gentle pressing the wine is mature for 20 months in new and one-year old French oak barriques. Bottled under screwcap to preserve the style of the wine and to ensure quality is maintained, this wine will display intense fruit in its youth or soft intergrated characters if cellared carefully over the next decade.
